Bhojpuri cinema also known as Bhollywood is a platform where two states are represented, Bihar and UP. It is believed that two of the states have a strong connection in different cultures, culture of living, culture of festivals, and also the culture of dialect which indirectly shapes the culture of cinema. The first Bhojpuri film Ganga Maiyya Tohe Piyari Chadhaibo by Vishwanath Shahabadi in 1963introduced cinema in Bihar and UP. This was also the time when people of the two states were struggling to cope up with the poverty, unemployment, and overall existential crisis. Bhojpuri Cinema then not just became an entertainment source but also a platform where people can explorethemselves in their own dialect. With coming 80s the Bhollywood took a different shape, with the plethoral audience and rave reviews. The people of the states started connecting more to the regional cinemas. With time Cinema evolved and so did the Bhojpuri stars. Ravi Kishan, Manoj Tiwari, Dinesh Lal Yadav and tens and hundreds of stars outshined themselves through Bhojpuri Cinema in India. The length of the audience increased, and the popularity of the cinema industry reached the level of immense success. People danced on the tunes of the Bhojpuri songs. With each film, the Bhojpuri cinema started evolving. The 2006 film Ganga starring Veteran actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini gave true recognition to Bhojpuri Film Industry.The film industry is now worth 2000 crore. Films like Coolie No. 1, Nirahwa Chala London of 2020 have struck the Box Office with a huge collection.The struggle of Bhojiwood for recognition and respect still continues. The industry is on its verge of losing Identity at the national level. The stars who learned to twinkle in Bhojpuri Cinema are looking for another sky. The Cinema which once objectified culture now seems to objectify people. The story level has reached to a drop. The films have to struggle for enough screens. The Bhojpuri cinemas stand inferior when it comes to representation. Most of the people from the state itself have changed theirpreferences.Bhojpuri Cinema is not just a film industry for Bihar or UP, it is a medium of people’s entertainment in their comfort zone, it is medium of giving value to the culture of Bhojpuri speakers. It is the crown of Bihar and UP. The rekindle will not just bring life to the Bhojpuri Cinema but to the dialect of millions who connect to their states living worldwide.last_img read more
