first_imgAngel Norman has emerged as the winner among six finalists determined to wear the crown of the Little Angle Beauty Festival (LABFest), a children reality show.The reality show, titled: ‘Little Miss Beauty,’ was contested by 15 girls between the ages of 6 & 12 years every Sunday for nine weeks, and there was a weekly eviction that saw others dropping out of the competition.The Sunday, December 13, 2015 was full of excitement and expression of emotions at the St. Clements University College in Paynesville as families, well wishes and the general public gathered at the grand finale and closing of the Little Angel Beauty Festival (LABFest) Season 1 Reloaded.M. Greatness Vincent from the Winners Chapel ended up as the 1st Runner up, followed by Jerrilyn A. Garlawolu from the CHRIDA House of Joy as 2nd Runner Up.The awards for the winners include scholarships, educational materials, portraits, among others.With tears in her eyes, the 11 year old winner, angel Blessing Norman, thanked her “guardian angels” (the event organizers) for all the training they have given her over the past weeks. “I want to thank my guardian angels for helping to making me a better girl. I also thank my mother, Mrs. Josephine Norman, who is the most influential person in my life, and everyone who voted for me or supported me in any way. Thank you, and God bless you,” said Angel, a St. Kizito Catholic Church member. Announcing the results, the head judge, Elder Success K. Hopeson, hailed the 15 participants for their bravery to contest, especially the six finalists. “I encourage all the angels to see themselves as winners. It has been a really interesting process from the audition stages through to the grand final; and I must admit, all of you girls have a promising future. Please put out there all that you have learned. Be the agents of change that you have become,” she said.Delivering the opening statement, the Resident Pastor of the Bethel Cathedral of Hope, Rev. Della B. Belleh, also congratulated all the six finalists and encouraged them to put up their best in their title race of life. Rev. Belleh urged the organizer to continue such a good initiative, adding that there is a need for more of these kinds of programs that will develop the children of Liberia.“As I watched how these children have developed over the past nine weeks, I am impressed with the level of work done. I think every parent who mean well for their girl children should enroll them into LABFest every year,” Rev. Belleh added.For his part, the event director, Richlue O. BURPHY, said he wholeheartedly accepts the verdict of the panel of judges and extended thanks to the parents, his team as well as everyone who was part of this process in whatever way.“We are extremely impressed with the level of dedication you judges put into making LABFest a transparent process, and on behalf of my team, I say thanks, and God bless you. We also congratulate angel Blessing and the Runners Up and well as the finalists and the rest of the angels. God bless you all for standing up to the challenge. “I am convinced that this year’s season of LABFest is not just a success but also a fulfillment for the winners.
